Sam Bankman-Fried said in a tweet Monday morning the crypto exchange had no plans to acquire Huobi. 

Just to be explicit because apparently a lot of people are saying this:

No, we are not planning to acquire Huobi.

Earlier this month Bloomberg reported that FTX had held preliminary talks with Huobi founder Leon Li to buy a majority stake in Huobi that would value the firm at $3 billion, as well as Tron founder Justin Sun founder of the Tron blockchain network with later denied it too.

FTX bought Japanese exchange Liquid and also agreed to acquire Canadian trading platform Bitvo in June this year.

FTX also offered to acquire bankrupt lender Voyager and BlockFi some months ago.
